The History Behind Mademoiselle Raw Bar & Grill

For over three decades, 563 King St. W. was home to the iconic For Your Eyes Only, an unassuming adult entertainment venue. However, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, For Your Eyes Only closed its doors in 2020, marking the end of an era.

Mademoiselle, the brainchild of Peter Girges (MARBL) and Ana-Maria Butcura, now occupies this historic location, ushering in a new era for King West in Toronto. This ambitious project promises an “elevated dining experience” that fuses elements from Southern France, Miami, and the Mediterranean. The result is an atmosphere of decadence reminiscent of luxury coastal getaways, offering fresh cuisine, overflowing drinks, and an eternal spirit of celebration.

Despite the transformation, Mademoiselle pays homage to the building’s history. While the exterior received a fresh coat of paint to align with the restaurant’s blue-and-white Mediterranean design, the interior retains the essence of For Your Eyes Only’s central stage, which now serves as the centrepiece—a grand floor-to-ceiling bar displaying an array of top-shelf tequilas and champagnes.
